Tranquility House on Pleasant River

A great place to be surrounded by the beauty of Maine. Absolutely gorgeous views to be appreciated in the main spaces of the house. The house itself is generously stocked and ready for hosting large groups for meals/get togethers, including beautiful deck and fire pit. Kitchens and bathrooms had everything needed for an extended stay. The sleeping arrangements would probably be best for families or groups well acquainted with one another. There's plenty of spaces to sleep, but folks should be aware the spaces upstairs (rooms and bathroom) will require folks to go in and out of each other's spaces. Would highly recommend and hope we get a chance to visit again and stay longer.

This is the second year we have rented this house. This time with a larger party--all cooks. The house did not disappoint! It is a great house well decorated with fabulously comfortable furniture and a dream kitchen. An added plus it has AC if you happen to hit the rare Maine heatwave which we did. It is well located on the island with easy access to town, hikes, and the quarries. We will be back next year!

The tranquility house was tastefully decorated , very clean with everything we needed in a group of eight to be comfortable and entertained. Loved the private setting on a tidal river! The younger family members tubed on the incoming tide! We picked berries and wildflowers for a bouquet. We even had a lobster steamer for our family cookout on the attached porch! A lovely family vacation!

Tranquility House is a gem of a rental on Vinalhaven. Easily and conveniently located to town, land preserve hikes, and the quarry for swimming. The house is beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture. The kitchen is stocked for a chef! You can spend hours on the deck or in a rocker looking at the water. The house is well designed for two couples or a family. Not everyone will get a private room if you have a family of 3+kids, but that is a minor issue. I HIGHLY recommend this property!!
